LUIS TEJADA

After teaching Spanish in St. Louis (MO) through the "visitor teachers" program during school year 2011-12,  I would like to underline how positive this year has been. I have fallen in love with this country, its people and  its culture. The public high school where I worked in the US is a wonderful place to teach (and to grow professionally), with a very professional staff and brilliant students. Everyone has assisted me beyond the professional at all times.

I have faced (successfully, I think) lots of challenges, and I couldn’t have made it without the support of the Cordell Hull Foundation. I can’t express with words how grateful I am for having had the chance to come and teach here. But in addition to this, I would like to express my sadness after having known that St Louis Public Schools cancelled the “visitor teachers” program.
 

It is hoped that the Cordell Hull Foundation will keep supporting this program and its goals, because in a world like ours it is  becoming more and more necessary.
